Making materials become less susceptible to fire, is something many materials scientists spend a lot of time working on. Now, a team from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore has developed one that is transparent and fire retardant.
However, this is not the first material we have seen perform so well. In the early 1990’s a material was shown on national television, and it was capable of preventing an egg from burning.
The research continues into fire retardant materials.
